Statement by CEO of Redevco
We are proud of what we have achieved up to now in the area of Corporate Responsibility, although at the same time we realise that a number of challenges still lie ahead. In this, its first public Corporate Responsibility Report, Redevco provides an insight into the efforts we are making, our current performance and the challenges that remain. These are various Corporate Responsible issues that affect the real estate business, directly and indirectly. After more than 150 years as a real estate partner, we know what it means to carefully manage the assets in our portfolio and to look beyond short-term targets. The characteristics, implications and Corporate Responsibility issues connected with a building that has stood for more than 150 years are different to those connected with a new building. For example, energy efficiency is an issue that applies to both types of asset, but it has to be addressed in different ways. For the 'old' building it is a question of finding ways of reducing energy consumption, while for a 'new' building it is a question of designing zero-energy buildings.
