Redevco Switzerland is based in Zurich. Four real estate professionals headed by Jean-Christophe Bretxa co-ordinate the company’s activities, which primarily involve buying, selling, developing and managing real estate.
Redevco in Switzerland
Redevco Switzerland was founded in 1999, when it took over the high-quality real estate portfolio of C&A. Based in Zurich, it has operated since then as a dedicated real estate company, safeguarding and increasing the value of the portfolio by refurbishing and optimising the buildings over the years. We have also added a number of properties to the portfolio, and broadened our tenant base, which today includes companies such as Denner, H&M and Darty.
World-class portfolio
Our real estate portfolio currently consists of 20 buildings in prime locations in the main towns and cities of German- and French-speaking Switzerland. The total portfolio is valued at around CHF 440 million. Most of our tenants are retailers and include large multinationals as well as national and local companies. This client diversity and mix creates added value for all parties, so we view it as a significant factor in our portfolio management.
Swiss investment strategy
Redevco’s growth has always been driven by carefully considered investments with a long horizon. This approach ensures good liquidity and allows us to invest only when we are totally convinced that a property has real potential. Thanks to our strong financial position we can also act fast when attractive investment opportunities arise. We are interested mainly in individual investments between CHF 10-100 million per property, with a focus on retail buildings in prime locations in major Swiss town and city centres. A key consideration in our investment decisions is that there must be potential for sustainable value growth – and not just in terms of financial gain: our property developments always take into account ecological and social aspects.
We think beyond short-term profits, and analyse urban development. We involve our tenant in the project at an early stage, which generates win-win advantages: optimum, innovative solutions. Finding a balance between performance, people and planet is one of our key business principles.
