Amsterdam, April 3, 2020 – During the Corona outbreak, the measures we as a company have taken are geared towards maximising the well-being of our employees in first instance as well as safeguarding our business continuity, which will allow us to continue to service our tenants and investor clients.
In the meantime, some of our construction work lead to beautiful results. Redevco is currently redeveloping their 9,000 m2, four story C&A building at 18 Septemberplein, Eindhoven, The Netherlands. With glass boxes at 5.5 meters wide, 7 meters high and weighing 3000kg each, the type and scale of glass facade construction at our 18 Septemberplein renovation has never before been realised in the Netherlands. UNStudio was invited to restore and connect this historical building to its existing urban context. Here you can find a video of the glass façade.
Redevco used the renovation of the old department store as an opportunity to implement sustainability measures and strives for a BREEAM-Excellent certification. Sustainability measures that have been taken are the installation of solar panels, green on the roof and facade, and the use of energy efficient escalators and elevators.
