Juan José Cabrera Hernández, Financial Manager in Spain

After almost 4 years in Redevco as a Financial Controller, my current role as a Financial Manager within the Southern European team provides me further insights and control surrounding all related-financial matters. It also provides an opportunity to keep connected and offering valued added to those investors and stakeholders in and outside the organisation. I am now more involved in complex, structural and transactional operations as well as notable tax, legal and ESG matters which are inevitably interlinked with the finance department. This involvement has reinforced my belief that ‘commitment’ and ‘attitude’ are undoubtfully skills that can make the difference.

What I enjoy the most about my role at Redevco is that I am obtaining a 360º view in numerous matters affecting the organisationI feel very involved.”

Meet Mahesh

Mahesh Jayan, Sustainability Analyst in the Netherlands

I am an engineer who relocated from India to The Netherlands to pursue my Master’s degree. In my personal life, I enjoy cooking and exploring new cuisines with my wife, as well as spending time with our cat, Mia.

I joined Redevco as a trainee to work on ‘Energy as a Service’ for a period of six months. I was new to the real estate industry, so I was not sure what to expect, but I was excited to work on an energy-related subject (due to my background in sustainable energy). Within a couple of months working with the innovation and sustainability team, I was drawn into the world of real estate, its impact on the people and the environment, as well as the importance of creating a positive impact in this industry.

After my traineeship, I jumped into a new role as a Sustainability Analyst. Now, I collect, consolidate and report the energy and emission inventory of our company and portfolio. I, along with my team, create actional insights for our country teams to improve energy efficiency and impact. In this process, I get to interact and work with colleagues from all our offices to achieve ‘Mission 2040’.

“I hope to keep learning and grow myself into a position where I can lead sustainable projects that help Redevco drive positive impact on both people and our environment.”

Yves van Herpe, Sustainability Manager in Belgium

I’m Belgian, married with two sons and a Labrador Golden Retriever. I Graduated from Ghent University as a bio-engineer in environmental technology, then finished a PhD from Ghent University in Applied Biological Sciences. I live in a small village not far from Ghent, where I’m active in local sports and culture associations. I like good food, attending concerts, performances and festivals, as well as traveling and cycling.

“Redevco gives me the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the fight against climate change.”

My work history includes two engineering firms. I started at Redevco in March of 2006 as an environmental specialist, investigating soil contaminants within Redevco’s Belgian portfolio. I am currently Environmental and Sustainability Manager, where I’m responsible for all environmental, energy and sustainability files in Belgium. Our current focus is mainly on Project Solar.

Redevco provides our team with a professional and extensive framework with the tools and resources we need to perform our job well. This includes a competitive salary, a fair number of leave days, fringe benefits, and office equipment for working at home. Just as importantly, it is a flexible organisation, with a variety of internal and external training activities, as well as the opportunity to attend local and international events with colleagues. But I think the best thing about working at Redevco is that it gives me the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the fight against climate change.

Paris

Meet Maria

Maria Tyler, Property Manager in France

I was born and grew up in Ireland and following a diploma in International Business Studies, I moved to France for a year and never went back! I love travelling, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. I’m a people person who loves spending quality time with family and friends – whether it’s sharing a great meal or heading out for long hikes in the countryside.

Prior to joining Redevco, I worked for a family office in M&A where my role consisted of analysing and sourcing investment opportunities in industrial sectors. I joined Redevco in 2017 in a supporting role as Portfolio Assistant. This position allowed me to delve into Real Estate and learn about the sector. A whole new world opened up to me with its challenges and fulfilments and even though my job was varied, I quickly missed the operational side of my previous job so when one of my colleagues decided to leave Redevco, I seized the opportunity and applied for the position of Property Manager.

What surprised me the most was the diversity of responsibilities. A Property Manager not only deals with technical issues and participates in the general meetings of shopping centres but also elaborates the asset business plans and yearly budgets. In my case, I am also the Sustainability lead for the French assets. This part of my job is passionate and evolves daily.

“I take pride in working for a company that genuinely emphasizes sustainability and is dedicated to transforming properties to enhance the vitality of urban landscapes.”

NextGen Board

As an investment manager focused on urban real estate, Redevco wants to contribute to making cities more sustainable and liveable. Cities are evolving rapidly and need to become healthier, more sustainable places for the well-being of both people and planet. This is particularly relevant to the younger generation, therefore Redevco established a NextGen Board that allows the younger voice in our company to be heard and that will be instrumental to help the company play its role in the transition that cities need to make.
