RIVIUM
Redevco will be a key player by contributing in the Nieuwe Rivium regeneration project which will see the Rivium business park in Capelle aan den IJssel, in the greater Rotterdam area, converted into a vibrant residential hub. The region will be completely transformed from an outdated business park to a bustling district with 5000 new residential homes and areas for recreation, sport, education and healthcare.
In a bid to remain sustainable and in line with net zero targets, several office buildings will be converted directly into homes using sustainable practises while others will be demolished with circularity in mind and the materials recycled wherever possible.
Redevco will be responsible for 702 mixed use units – a combination of residential apartments and commercial property in different price categories. There is currently huge demand for housing in Capelle. The buildings will have different heights, with the two largest residential towers rising above 130 metres.
This project is very much in line with Redevco’s ambition of turning cities into social spaces designed to enhance the wellbeing of their inhabitants and preserve the planet. Greenery and sustainability will play an important role in the core planning of the area. Unquestionably, pedestrian routes and cycle paths will be a priority as well as bike parking spaces. Public transport will be in the form of a Park Shuttle, a water bus and a water taxi.
Situated close to the river Nieuwe Maas, a stone’s throw from Rotterdam, minutes away from the local metro station and the Erasmus University this unique development is guaranteed to become an attractive area to live.
The RIVIUM project is one of four projects representing a total of close to €380 million of investments managed by Redevco in the second largest Dutch city of Rotterdam.
